PharmD Curriculum

This is the curriculum for the six-year PharmD degree at KU. Students may complete the pre-pharmacy curriculum at KU or other accredited institutions of higher learning. Students must transfer 68 hours into the professional curriculum and complete 200 total hours to be eligible to graduate.

With questions on the curriculum contact Associate Dean Hotchkiss or Ragan at 785-864-3591.

Beginning with the Fall 2007 semester 8 hours of Introductory Pharmacy Practice Experience (IPPE) will be added to the professional curriculum. These 8 hours will be divided across the first three professional years. This will result in a total of 140 professional hours required and 208 total hours to graduate.

All chemistry and biology laboratory classes in the pre-pharmacy curriculum must be completed as wet labs (i.e. taken on a campus in a face-to-face format). No simulation or off-site laboratory courses will not be accepted beginning with the Fall 2011 class.
